In the Sakura Taisen series, Arano Samurai Musume is a side story that also serves as an introductory chapter to the book Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. Compared to the preceding four Sakura Taisen games, this one has a setting, cast of characters, and unique gameplay style.
The action of novel takes place in the United States of America, and it concentrates on Gemini Sunrise, a little girl of Japanese and American ancestry who will appear in the next fifth chapter. She was raised in Texas, where she spent much of her youth, but she is now living in New York. The Samurai Cowgirl climbs aboard her reliable companion, the horse Rodeo. She travels to the city known as the “Big Apple” to meet a wide variety of new people and participate in various exciting activities.
In terms of gameplay, the game represents a significant shift from the Sakura Taisen style. This is largely an action-oriented video game in which the player takes control of Gemini, who rides a horse and engages her adversaries in what is known as “Action Rodeo Combat.” The dialogues continue to be constructed following the traditional Sakura Taisen format, which features several choices through talks that lead to various interactions between characters.
