A Samurai named Gojiro Kiryuu travels to the United West hoping to find his brother. His travels lead him to a shady land baron named Goldberg, who runs the corrupt town he finds himself. Even though Gojiro isn’t interested in making things right, he eventually finds himself embroiled in the issues that plague the city, such as stopping highway thieves, defending a woman from would-be rapists, and foiling Goldberg’s plots. Because Goldberg intends to destroy Gojiro, he lets out an infinite stream of minions, all of which become fodder for Gojiro’s blade. Goldberg, however, has one more card up his sleeve… Samurai Western is an action game played from the third-person perspective. Gojiro’s edge is more than capable of competing with the firearms and armament of the Old West, and he can deflect or sidestep bullets with ease. As Gojiro advances through the game’s levels, he can improve his skills, gain access to other swords and stances, and expand his outfit to include Western accouterments. Samurai Western is primarily a game for one person, but there is also a mode for two players to work together with characters that can be unlocked either way.
