Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights is a third-person platform game with action elements published by THQ for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox consoles. The game was first released in North America on May 20, 2002, and was released in PAL regions that year. It is the first Scooby-Doo! Video games to be released on sixth-generation consoles. In 2003, the game was released as a Greatest Hits title. The game was followed by Scooby Doo: Mystery Mayhem. The game puts players in control of Scooby-Doo in a story that revolves around him searching for the rest of the gang after an eccentric villain around a haunted mansion has kidnaped them. The game is divided into twelve zones ranging from graveyards and secret labs to fishing villages and haunted mazes. The game received mixed reviews from critics, with many praising its massive environments that stayed true to the Scooby-Doo! Universe, while others praise its simplicity. Fans of the original show adored the game, which they saw as compensation for the N64 game released in 2000. Don Knotts also did voice work for the game for the first and only time, though he had previously done voice work in the Scooby-Doo universe.
