This is a re-release of the iconic psychedelic shooter Fantasy Zone. In this version, you take control of a cutesy spacecraft and attempt to clear the primary-colored levels that make up the game world by destroying the hordes of foes just as cute as your ship.
In contrast to the other AGES 2500 releases, Fantasy Zone uses cell-shaded 3D visuals while still preserving the appearance and feel of the original 2D graphics. There are two playable game modes: the first is the classic version, while the second is an arranged version that adds new third-person levels and animated cutscenes following the game’s most important boss battles.
