The game is structured similarly to a visual novel but includes a combat system and components similar to dating simulations. The decisions the player makes throughout the game will affect which of the five possible endings they receive once the game has been completed. As is the case with the vast majority of visual novels, most of the time spent playing the game is spent reading the text displayed on the screen. This text conveys the narrative and dialogue of the plot. The player can select one course of action from several available alternatives. The player must push the game buttons in a predetermined order within the allotted amount of time to complete the “active countdown” minigame, which appears intermittently along the text flow. Your performance in these minigames will determine which endings you see when the game is over. The player takes over the character of Shana during the battle sequences played out in a turn-based fashion. To defeat Crimson Denizens, the player employs various combat strategies, including fire, the powers of unrestraint, and treasure items. Moreover, Shana can use a special attack and defend herself.
