Shinobido: Way of the Ninja is a stealth-action video game that is analogous to the popular Tenchu video game series. The objective of the game is to complete your objectives without being discovered by any of the town’s guards, watchdogs, or even the oblivious citizens of the town. Because your character isn’t particularly capable in direct battle, it is absolutely essential that you approach your foes from behind in a careful manner.
The fact that the game is largely non-linear, in contrast to Tenchu, is a significant difference. This means that you have the ability to pick and choose which missions you want to take part in at nearly any point in the game. There are three different landlords who will give you missions to do for them. The level of trust that each landlord has in you will either increase or decrease according to the decisions that you make. You will have access to alchemy in this game and will be able to make your own equipment, such as strength potions and smoke bombs through its use. Shinobido also provides you with your own hideout, where you may decorate it with a variety of trees and set up traps to thwart any intruders who try to breach your territory.
The events of the novel took place in the 1600s in the region of Utakata, which is located in Japan. You play the part of Goh, a ninja who is the last survivor of the Azuka Clan and who is currently asleep and resting next to a river. He has entirely forgotten everything that has happened to him in the past. After discovering a magical stone that had minute shards of the occurrences that took place prior to his awakening, he comes to the conclusion that the only way to learn more about his history is to locate the other stones.
