Karaoke game SingStar: Motown features, with very few exceptions, traditional Motown songs from the 1960s and 1970s. The game’s name comes from the label that produced the music. The basic premise of the gameplay has not been altered in any way: a player (or players) sing into a microphone, and the game awards points based on how well they perform. The only criterion for evaluation is whether or not the right note is struck at the appropriate time; the octave or the words being sung have no bearing on the outcome. The SingStore, an online store where new songs may be downloaded, is accessible through the PS3 version of the game.
