The sequel to State of Emergency, titled State of Emergency 2 (or State of Emergency Vengeance in Japan), was released in 2005. The video game can be played on a PlayStation 2 system. The events of this game take place ten years after the first game. It comes with an improved engine as well as more game modes. VIS Entertainment was working on State of Emergency 2 for Rockstar Games. However, SouthPeak Interactive and DC Studios took over the game’s development after Rockstar Games canceled the project.
