The Street Fighter Alpha Anthology contains coin-op conversions of the following games that are direct adaptations:
Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, and Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold are the titles included in this collection (aka Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha: adds the characters and classic versions of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Sagat, and M. Bison, as well as some gameplay updates, previously only available in the Street Fighter Collection)

Despite the fact that these are faithful conversions, there are a few additions and hidden elements included. Hyper Street Fighter Alpha is a versus mode based on Alpha 1, 2, and 3 with additional characters, and ISMs mimicking other series’ mechanics such as chain combos, a parrying system, advancing guard, and even move variations of the Marvel vs. Capcom series. If the player completes the single-player mode of each game, they will unlock a bonus version of Alpha 3 with home version characters and new fighting styles. This version is called Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper in the Japanese version. You can also unlock the English version of Alpha 2 if you have the Japanese version of the game.
In the arcade version of the game, the loading windows have been deleted, and the user now has the ability to modify the arcade options. Arcade (Story) and Versus are the two essential game modes that are included in every title. The Alpha games also have a mode called Survival as well as a mode called Dramatic Battle, which allows players to compete in tag team matches against one another.
