The events of this game take place twenty years after those of the previous game. It was foretold that the Goddess Laharah Reborn would be born in the province of Halassar, located in the Empire of Galdyr, which is quite a distance from the kingdoms of Medeva and Orenia. When Maia was still an infant, the priestesses of Laharah proclaimed her to be a goddess. Subsequently, armies rose in Maia’s name, led by Prince Taurgis, the brother of the Emperor. This ultimately resulted in Halassar gaining its independence from Galdyr and Maia, the Queen of the Halassar Empire. Sangaril, an orphan raised and educated by the assassins of the Shadow Clan of the Munari, is accompanying her on this journey. Sangaril was initially tasked with eliminating Maia when she was a child, but instead, he became her loyal bodyguard. Maia can transform into one of the four Summons when she activates a rune stone embedded in the pirate island stronghold of Prince Neru on the Isle of Teomura while she is in the process of reclaiming the Book of Prophets from the Halassar Palace traitor Dama Sivora. This takes place while Maia is on the Isle of Teomura. After retrieving the Book of the Prophets and returning to the Palace, she can get further insight into her path.
