MX is also one of the few games in the franchise in which the player has no say over which “Banpresto Original” protagonist they play. Hugo Medio (voiced by Hiroki Takahashi) and Aqua Centolm (expressed by Yuri Shiratori) share the same machine in this game. However, there is still a choice between the super robot, Garmraid, and the real robot, Cerberus. Another notable difference in MX is that the Mobile Suit Gundam series does not participate in any of the game’s major events. Except for G Gundam, which loosely connects their endings (the MX storyline is set after the stops, according to the events of Super Robot Wars Impact) and plots to the “Banpresto Original” storyline, the other Gundam productions exist almost entirely to support the other non-Gundam titles of MX. It differs from previous Super Robot Wars productions in that conflicts between various Gundam factions must be accepted as part of the storyline. Only two other games feature a Gundam entry that does not play a significant role. The titles are Super Robot Wars W for the Nintendo DS and Super Robot Wars NEO for the Nintendo Wii.
