Bandai Namco Games is responsible for creating and publishing the role-playing video game Tales of Destiny, which was initially made available in Japan in 2006. A great swordsman named Stahn Aileron boards a massive dragon ship and enjoys the ride. During the journey, the ship comes under attack from pirates. Stahn stumbles across a sword while searching for a weapon to defend himself. Very quickly, he realizes that it is not merely an ordinary sword but the legendary talking sword Dymlos, which has been dormant for many years and can only be roused from his slumber if there is an immediate and grave threat to the world. But what is the danger that caused Dymlos to awaken now? Stahn decides to travel the world and figure out what is wrong with it with the assistance of a few close friends. The game that comes after Tales of Phantasia is called Tales of Destiny. The structure of traditional Japanese role-playing games is carried over from its predecessor. Still, turn-based combat is used instead of action-oriented in this game iteration. The fights take place on separate screens that scroll to the side, like in a fighting game, and they involve multiple players. The player assumes control of the main hero, directing him across the battlefield while commanding him to carry out a variety of attacks and combos. It is possible to pause the fight at any time and give a different fighting style to any other party members, even though the game’s artificial intelligence controls them.
