Monster Games created the video game Test Drive: Eve of Destruction in 2004, and Atari was the company that sold it. In Europe, the game was titled Driven to Destruction instead of Test Drive: Eve of Destruction.

The game is modeled after the popular spectator sport of demolition derby, which is played in the United States. Because of this, the game takes place in the United States and features vintage automobiles from the United States. This places it in the same category as games like Demolition Racer and Destruction Derby.

There is a wide variety of transportation available, some of which includes taxis, hearses, buses, ambulances, and police cars.

In the career mode, there are a total of 25 events, some of which include Figure-8 races, Figure-8 Jump Races, Standard races, Suicide Races (in which the contestants are split in half and run the track in the opposite direction), Trailer Races, and School Bus Races. Demolition derbies and push-off competitions are created with the sole intention of destroying all of the other competing cars. However, in the push-off events, in which the event takes place on an elevated platform, the player can win twice as many points by pushing automobiles off of the platform rather than just destroying them by crashing into them. The Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Car Soccer is all events that can only be played in multiplayer mode. There are also novelty races such as the gauntlet, in which a solitary hearse must finish a race without being destroyed by a horde of other cars; Detention, in which an unbeatable bus must prevent all cars from finishing; and Survival, in which the player must complete a point-to-point race in sixty seconds while the other cars try to destroy them.
