The outcome of the events that take place in Middle-earth is, once again, in the hands of the player in the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King video game. In the third and final part of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, the Ring must be destroyed by hurling it into the Crack of Doom. This action will release Middle Earth from the control of the Dark Lord Sauron.
The third-person gameplay in Return of the King enables immersive action to be played out in diverse, interactive environments. The new game also includes an all-new co-op multiplayer mode that allows players to form their own Fellowship and choose from eight playable characters, including Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimil, Sam, and Frodo, all of whom are portrayed by their actual actors from the films. Players will also face off against ferocious boss monsters like Shelob and the final showdown with Dark Lord Sauron, with all of the action being scored by Academy Award winner Howard Shore
