A motley crew of good guys and bad guys, each with their own set of problems to solve in the century that spans the millennium (1935-2035), do battle against those problems. Although none of them are aware of the others, they all have a timeless common spirit of adventure. However, unbeknownst to them, the TimeSplitters have taken notice of their bold deeds because of the time travel they have attempted.
The TimeSplitters is a race that lives outside of time and space. They are malevolent. They have used cursed shards of crystal to spread fear, greed, and strife throughout the course of human history. They have been manipulating the fate of humanity for eons in order to further their own nefarious goals. Now, having been awoken from a long and deep slumber, the TimeSplitters have crossed the threshold from their murky domain, tearing a hole in the very fabric of time in order to confront our heroes.
Will our heroes be able to band together to face a shared foe and fulfill a larger destiny? Or will humankind be doomed to live out its entire existence in a world where the TimeSplitters reign supreme?
