Torrente has made its comeback in the form of a movie and a video game. In this game, the streets of Madrid have been faithfully converted into game maps, and players can visit real-life locations such as the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza del Callao if they so choose. Once again, one can fight crime in Madrid from either a first-person or third-person perspective, but this time it is not merely a virtual Madrid. The man who is responsible for the film franchise, Santiago Segura, is the one who recorded the voice of Torrente, and the movie and the video game were both made at the same time (the movie was released a week before the game.) This marks the first time that a Spanish-language video game has been created concurrently with the production of the film on which it is based, as well as in collaboration with that production.
