This Grand Theft Auto-inspired game of murder and retribution begins deep in the Mayan forest, where in 1989 a guy named Ernesto Cruz went missing. The game’s inspiration comes from GTA. The official explanation for his absence is that he died as a result of an overdose, but Ernesto’s twin boys, Ram and Tommy, do not believe this to be the case. They set out on a journey to discover the truth, which takes them into the wilds of Mexico as well as perilous metropolitan surroundings populated by criminal gangs, drug lords, and dangerous women.
Players have the option of walking throughout the expansive grounds or taking control of whatever vehicle they see fit. A combo system reminiscent of fighting games is included in Total Overdose. In addition, dexterous and accurate shooting can unlock additional weapons and skills. A “Rewind” mechanism gives players the ability to replay a sequence in order to complete a perfect combo or even to turn back the clock in order to avoid making a critical error.
