Another epic story was hidden away by the gods many centuries before Lenneth’s story began to be told. Once upon a time, the valkyrie Silmeria swore allegiance to Odin, but after an event that stoked the flames of discord between them, Odin decided to reincarnate her as a human against her will. The human soul of Alicia, Princess of Dipan, would be the one to carry her spirit once she passed away. In a typical scenario, Silmeria’s awareness would have been encased, and her spirit would have lain dormant until the next time she was called upon… The forced transmigration, on the other hand, leads the spirit of Silmeria to become active within Alicia, resulting in the presence of two souls in a single body. The awakening of the spirit that was supposed to be imprisoned is a development that Odin will not be able to ignore for very long. The basic action-oriented side-scrolling approach seen in the first game is carried over into this installment, along with the addition of the new Photon Action System. The ability to project photons provides players with increased flexibility to explore and increases the action, which leads to hard puzzles with ingenious ways to solve them. Add to that “seal stones,” which change the way the laws of nature work in dungeons, and you’ve reached a whole new level of strategic depth. The innovative combat system that was included in the game before this one has been transformed into the Advanced Tactical Combination Battle System.
