Blood Boal is the name of the soldier you play as in the game. In 999, the goddess Ariah brings you back to life and bestows you with the gift of immortality. She tells you that an ancient prophecy predicted the Apocalypse, also known as the end of all human civilization, in 1099. You have been tasked with gathering the fourteen most skilled warriors into an army to forestall the coming of the world’s end. The game will progress through the one hundred years that will pass between your rebirth and the predicted end of the world. The turn-based strategic battles are fought on a four squares wide grid and three rows deep. Seven of your total of fourteen warriors can take an active part in the conflict. You arrange the soldiers on the battlefield in three rows: the first row is responsible for attacking, the second row assists the first row’s attackers or attacks with bows, and the third row provides medical care. After each skirmish, your health points will be restored, but your soldiers will continue to suffer from fatigue and excessive damage until their stats are reduced, and you must bring them back to the town to rest. You must plan the battles so that a male and a female soldier will fall in love during the conflict. This is necessary because the soldiers you recruit will eventually grow old and unable to participate in the fights (the immortal hero will always be the same). If you have done an excellent job of developing a love story between two soldiers, their relationship will result in the birth of children who, in most cases, will prove to be more powerful than their parents.
