The popular film Wall-E, which was released by Pixar in 2008, has been adapted into a computer game with the same name. In the video game, the player has the option of controlling Wall-E or EVE (and sometimes both of them at the same time) as they navigate through nine levels that are based on the storyline of the film and allow them to act out scenarios that are lifted verbatim from the animated feature.

The gameplay for Wall-E consists of segments of platforming that make use of his ability to crush cubes and throw them, whilst the gameplay for EVE consists of segments that play out similarly to a flying game. In addition, the Wii version of the game featured a number of different minigames, such as two different on-rail light gun courses and a cooperative option. The PlayStation 2 and Personal Computer versions of the game were developed independently from the Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. The PS2 and PC versions of the game include 26 chapters, shorter EVE flight sequences, and improved gameplay diversity.

The evaluations that critics gave for WALL-E were, on the whole, somewhat mixed. The PlayStation 2 version of the game received the highest score possible from reviewers, 67 out of a possible 100 on the Metacritic scale. IGN lauded the adaptation, calling it “… one of the most polished film to game adaptations we’ve seen in a while,” despite the fact that the PlayStation Portable version received extensive backlash.
