The television show of the same name inspired the creation of the video game Xena: Warrior Princess, an action-packed platformer in three dimensions. Gabrielle, a companion of Xena’s, has been taken captive by Ares, the God of War, to coerce Gabrielle into rejoining him and his army. Gabrielle is currently being held captive in a dungeon gradually flooded with water. To complete her mission, Xena must now battle her way through Ares’s enchanted stronghold. You fight a variety of foes, such as bowmen, sworders, skeletons, and even the God of War himself, from a third-person perspective using your sword and a ring blade that can be hurled at foes from a first-person perspective as you continue through the game. Particular doors, such as those requiring switches, can be opened by picking up and using vases or other objects. It is sometimes necessary to rearrange crates or blocks to activate switches that control doors, or one may need to jump from platform to platform to reach a button.
