Puyo Puyo Tetris

2014 marked the release of Puyo Puyo Tetris, a puzzle game created by the Sonic Team and distributed by Sega for numerous platforms. The Puyo Puyo series and the Tetris franchise have collaborated to make this video game, which contains various game types that incorporate both popular franchises. The seven Tetriminos, distinct puzzle pieces consisting of four blocks each, have been reimagined as playable characters in this video game. The last Tetris-related game that Sega released was the Tetris Collection, which was part of the Sega Ages series and came out in 2006, making Puyo Puyo Tetris the first Tetris-related game that Sega has released in eight years. As a result of Puyo Puyo Tetris adopting the rules used in contemporary Tetris games, the rotation patterns and color schemes of the Tetriminoes differ from those found in prior releases by Sega. On February 6, 2014, the video game Puyo Puyo Tetris was made available for purchase in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3. On December 4, 2014, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were made available to the public.
