Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary

Sonic Team’s Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary is a puzzle game produced by Sega. The game, which celebrated the twentieth Anniversary of the Puyo Puyo series, was first launched for the Nintendo DS in July 2011 and was then released for the Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and PlayStation Portable in December 2011. The game contains 20 modes, including 8 new methods and 5 hidden modes from Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary. Except in Mission and Pair Puyo modes, a player is removed when they reach the top, and the round is won by the last player (or side) standing. “Pair Puyo” is a variant of two-on-two team play. The teammates share Nuisance Puyo and “lives” – when one of the teams’ fields runs out of Nuisance Puyo, the board is replaced with a new board with a pre-made chain, and a life is lost. When all lives are lost, the team is eliminated, and the last team wins the match. You earn points for “Extra Chains” (shooting a chain when your teammate is firing a chain) and “Synchro Chains” (firing chains of the same length (3 or longer) at the same time). Shop: Similar to Puyo Puyo Fever 2, there is a shop where you may spend points earned from various modes to exchange Puyo skins, alternate character voices, and alternate character clothing.
