The original Pokémon FireRed Version was modified to become Pokémon NEW FireRed Version – Special Edition. The NEW series has reached its third and final installment with this book. According to what the name suggests, this edition of Pokémon NEW Version FireRed is a “special” variant of the game.

– Captureable Pokémon: first 3 generations (starters included).
– Champions/Council 4/Master: improved, and Pokémon modified for some (as well as the characters).
– Higher number of captureable Legendaries.
– Crystal Onix can be captured.
– New evolutions and type changes for some Pokémon.
– Epic trainers.
In the Pokémon timeline, it is part of “World 2” (“World 1” being the original).
The game takes place in the same timeline as Pokémon NEW FireRed Version and Pokémon NEW Emerald Version (The 3 games complete the Pokédex).
Pokémon Celebi cannot appear, so there is no need to trade it to this game. It has been replaced by Crystal Onix, which cannot be traded to the NEW FireRed and NEW Emerald games.
