A hack titled Mario Party 64 was developed by MrComit and made available on February 16, 2020. It has seventy stars in it. Its gameplay is primarily inspired by Mario Party for the Nintendo 64, with each level re-creating one of the game’s eight boards. In addition, the music is modeled by Mario Party, and there are a number of stars up for grabs throughout a variety of other minigames. Mario Party 64 is a recreation of the Mario Party boards, including some of the game’s minigames, in the manner of the Super Mario 64 video game franchise.
The first five stars in each level may be earned through the game’s standard gameplay, while the sixth star can be earned by finishing a mini-game that can be accessible through a Warp Pipe hidden somewhere in the level. In addition, there are two of what are called as tokens hidden somewhere in each level. These tokens may be traded in at the Mini-Game Shop for access to secret cap stages as well as one-of-a-kind minigames that cannot be found within the stages itself.
The first overworld is based on the Mushroom Village and looks exactly the same. In Mario Party, this was the method for accessing the boards, settings, and minigames, as well as the stores. They perform functions in the hack that are fairly comparable to one another. It is the only way to access the second overworld, which requires five stars to access.
The second overworld may be reached by traveling through a Warp Pipe and features its own unique iterations of the game’s businesses.
The third overworld may be reached by going out of the warp pipe on the opposite side, and it features its own unique version of the stores, in addition to providing access to a hidden minigame.
