A WALK THROUGH THE PAST
I’ve been playing Pokémon ROM hacks since they were first made available, starting with games like Quartz, Ruby Destiny Reign of Legends, and Shiny Gold. I went from being apathetic to a community nut because of these fascinating hacks. I attempted to create my own hack once, but I was not successful due to a lack of knowledge and dedication on my part. I’ve been observing the scene for about ten years now, and I’ve gained enough experience and confidence to give ROM hacking another shot.
ESTABLISHING THE MOOD
You may be wondering what makes “Pokémon Radical Red” stand out from the sea of Fire Red hacks. I have a soft spot for hard hacks like Clover and Vega, two of the best ROM hacks available. The primary objective of this hack is to make the game more challenging. Similar to Drayano60’s enhancement hacks, it makes nearly every Pokémon available and vastly improves a variety of species and playstyles, adding to the already vast Pokémon canon. Additionally, it features several improvements to lifestyle that simplify routine tasks.
EXEMPLARY COLLECTIVE PERFORMANCE
Both myself and my trusted companion koala4 deserve credit for this outstanding achievement. Although I did the bulk of the code, koala4 deserves all the credit for spending countless hours perfecting the game’s balance, providing insightful suggestions, collecting exhaustive lists of locations where wild Pokémon can be discovered, and conducting extensive testing.
