Coach Hibiki recruits Japan’s best football players from around the country (many of whom appear in the first two seasons). The squad (below) is mainly composed of Raimon/The Ultimate Eleven and Aliea Academy players, with the addition of Sakuma from Teikoku Academy and Hijikata. This game also features two newbies, Utsunomiya Tormaru and Tobitaka Seiya. The players are divided into two groups. Endou leads one, and Kidou rules the other. Endou’s squad wins games 3-2 (in the anime), with goals from Hiroto, Gouenji, Someoka, Reize, and Fubuki. Despite this, numerous members of Kidou’s team made the team, including Fudou, Gouenji, Tachimukai, and Kidou himself. After the practice match, Inazuma Kudou Michiya is unveiled as Japan’s new coach, while his daughter Fuyuka decides to work as a manager for Inazuma Japan. The draw for the Asia preliminary matches was completed later, showing that Japan had been drawn against one of the favorites: Australia’s Big Waves. With only two days until the game against Australia, coach Kudou refuses to allow the players to train and orders them to stay indoors all day!

On the other hand, Tsunami escapes and perfects a new hissatsu technique called “The Typhoon,” which he utilizes to defeat Australia. However, the remainder of the players were forced to practice in their rooms. We discover that this is what coach Kudou had wished for the team to do to beat Australia’s Box-Lock Defense; they were able to win this by practicing in such a tight, confined space as a room for them to be able to keep close control of the ball, with Kidou being the first to realize this. Gouenji’s newly found hissatsu method, “Bakunetsu Screw,” helped Japan win this game 2-1. This game was eventually (three years later) published as a digital download for the Nintendo 3DS in the West.
