1080° Avalanche is a snowboarding video game developed in-house at Nintendo’s NST development lab and released for the Nintendo GameCube. Nintendo was also the game’s publisher. The video game Avalanche is a sequel to the Nintendo 64 title 1080° Snowboarding. In contrast to other popular snowboarding games like those in the SSX series, this one emphasizes competing in races as opposed to performing tricks. In addition to supporting up to four players on a single GameCube and outputting in 480p with Dolby Pro Logic II, it also enables local area network play with a maximum of four GameCubes.
