Backyard Sports is a console and PC game series. The most notable characters include Albert Pujols, Paul Pierce, Barry Bonds, Tim Duncan, Clint Mathis, Kevin Garnett, Tom Brady, Alex Rodriguez, Joe Thornton, and Andy Macdonald. MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLS license Backyard Sports. The series includes Backyard Baseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Hockey, and Skateboarding. Players form a “Backyard League” team of Backyard Kids and pros and compete to win. Players can design athletes since Backyard Football (1999). Power-Ups give players “super-abilities.” “Super Dunk” lets a basketball player slam from almost anywhere on the field, “Leap Frog” enables a football player to jump over the entire defensive line, and “Ice Cream Truck” distracts the other team.
