The Sum of All Fears is a first-person shooter in the vein of the Rogue Spear series. It’s from the same development team and has a similar appearance and feels, albeit not as tactical as Rogue Spear. The game’s plot is based on Tom Clancy’s book of the same name. You command a squad of elite fighters skilled in hostage rescue and anti-terror missions. Every member of the team is the best of the best. The first task is to retake a TV station that has been taken over by terrorists broadcasting their demands worldwide. They also have hostages, so you must guarantee that no one is harmed. However, this is the beginning of a global anti-terrorism effort, including 11 missions. There is a training mode and several difficulty levels. Unlike Rogue Spear, you cannot select squad members or equipment; everything is pre-defined, with over 15 firearms and explosives. You can’t organize your missions. Thus it boils down to managing a squad member, shooting every terrorist you see, and executing other chores (disarming security systems, for example). In contrast to other shooter games, you cannot withstand many rounds; two wounds are generally sufficient to kill you. You can then switch to another team member.
