By the end of the nineteenth century, the Millennium Earl spent thousands of years assembling an army of loyal creatures known as Akuma. The Exorcists are a group of people God chose through crystals called Innocence to stop the Earl from carrying out his mass destruction plans. Their mission is to destroy the Akuma. The plot of D.Gray-man: Ssha no Shikaku focuses on five young exorcists who serve as members of the Black Order, which operates under the Vatican and the Pope: Allen Walker from the United Kingdom, whose left arm can transform into an enormous claw called Crown Clown and whose cursed left eye allows him to see the souls of Akuma; Lenalee Lee from China, whose Dark Boots grant her extraordinary agility; Yu Kanda from Japan, will Ssha no Shikaku is an RPG based on the D.Gray-man anime series, which was adapted from Katsura Hoshino’s manga of the same name. It includes fully voiced cutscenes with the anime cast that lead into battle sequences with the exorcists’ enemies: Akuma and the mysterious group with superhuman abilities known only as the Noah, both of whom are under the Earl’s control. The player can view the story from the perspective of one of the five exorcists at various points throughout the game. Throughout the story, the chosen exorcist must make decisions that affect their bonds (“KIZUNA”) with their fellow exorcists, for better or worse. Raising bonds among exorcists unlocks scenarios, some only accessible via specific routes. Battles take place on a grid and are turn-based. Attacks have a limited range and can only be executed successfully if an enemy is in the targeted space.
