In an alternate timeline for the history of the Earth, a pact was reached in the early 21st century that required all countries to voluntarily destroy their nuclear arsenals. This brought an end to wars between nations on a global scale. The era of presumed global peace is, however, undermined by the persistent attacks that are being carried out by a new terrorist organization known as “Heaven Smile.” This group, which is comprised of human mutants that have been infected with a fatal virus, is aiming its violence at the United Nations and the International Ethics Committee (IEC). In the meantime, the relationship between the United States and Japan continues to worsen as a result of Japan falling under the authority of a party that advocates cutting ties with the United States.
A man named Christopher Mills is the one who secures the services of the hit squad known as Killer7 on behalf of the United States government. Harman Smith, an elderly man who uses a wheelchair and goes by this name, is the leader of this organization. He is blessed with a power known as the “Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon,” which enables him to transform into seven distinct personalities. During their previous lives, each of these people worked as assassin, and their souls were absorbed by Harman after they were killed in a mysterious event fifty years ago. Garcian Smith is the only one of these seven personas who are able to have a conversation with Harman, making him the most important one.
Killer7 is a cross-genre video game that features elements of both shooting and solving puzzles, as well as some light role-playing. Throughout the majority of the game, the player is free to switch between any of the game’s seven playable characters. Each character has unique skills. Dan, for instance, is a genuine marksman, whereas Coyote is a seasoned burglar who excels in his ability to move stealthily. The character navigation in the game is limited, despite the presence of 3D settings; the playable characters can only go along pre-determined lines, which frequently split off in different directions. When you take out a weapon, the game shifts to a first-person perspective, allowing you to freely rotate the camera but preventing you from moving around.
