Michael and KITT are targeted by a missile attack while driving back to the foundation in the sequel to Knight Rider: The Game. They barely make it and arrange to meet with the base. They investigate unusual black marks in demolished villages on their way home. The player controls KITT in all missions, who now has three weapons: a lock-on laser, a plasma gun, and missiles. There is also a turbo boost to jump over obstacles, a micro jam to scan items and recharge, a ski mode to drive on two wheels through narrow passages, a super pursuit mode for faster speed, and a shield to defend against incoming attacks. Certain functions are disabled when they are damaged or run out of energy. The various missions are linked by sequences in which the story is explained further using the in-game engine—many familiar characters from the TV show appearances, including Bonnie, Devon, Garth, and KARR. Missions are divided into two categories: racing and exploration. The player in the first type primarily avoids attacks while racing on a highway. The latter requires the player to maneuver through passages and fight robots while driving inside closed areas. There are also a few puzzle elements in which the player must locate terminals, shoot an object in the environment, or discover enemies’ weaknesses. The action slows when a stunt is performed, and the camera shifts to a breathtaking angle. Individual missions can be replayed in the mission and primary story modes. The player can unlock TV scenes, learn more about the series, and take a quiz.
