Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi Kenkakuden is a dream match game that features the entirety of the cast from Samurai Shodown V Special, seven returning characters from Samurai Shodown and Samurai Shodown II, and several new characters added to the Playstation 2 port of the game. Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi Kenkakuden was developed by Namco Bandai Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
The events of this story take place simultaneously with those of Samurai Shodown V. Yoshitora makes the decision to discover who the best fighter in the world is, which leads to the organization of a tournament for that specific goal.
The gameplay is comparable to that of Samurai Shodown V Special; however, the player can now choose between six distinct fighting systems, each of which comes with its own set of benefits and drawbacks. The similarities between the two games end there. A variety of objects, including bombs and boulders, can be grabbed and hurled at the adversary.
In addition, there is both original and arranged music, a large move list for each playable character, and a two-player vs mode that is accessible through netplay.
