In Spider-Man 3, players take on the role of the eponymous hero as he fights to keep New York City safe from the threat posed by the trio of supervillains known as the New Goblin, the Sandman, and Venom. The game is based on the same-named film that was released in 2007.

The gameplay is quite similar to that of Spider-Man 2, in which the player is free to explore a large-size representation of New York Metropolis in a “Sandbox” manner. This time, however, the city is much larger, and the player is able to explore the subway and sewage systems in addition to the rest of the city. In addition, players are given the opportunity to explore alternative stories that were not covered in the third movie. These alternate storylines may include battling well-known Spider-Man antagonists such as Kraven, the Lizard, Scorpion, Rhino, or Kingpin or dismantling various gang factions.

The incorporation of Spider-black Man’s symbiote outfit into the new game serves as one of the primary focal points of the game overall. Spider-Man is able to move more quickly and has greater popularity among the general people when he is dressed in his classic red and blue suit. When he dons the black outfit, Spider-Man transforms into a more powerful and belligerent version of himself.

The game also features cinematic sequences known as “cineractives,” which let the player interact with the action by pressing buttons on the gamepad or moving the analog stick.

Morbius and Shriek are both playable characters that serve as the game’s bosses in this iteration of the game. After a certain point in the game, the black outfit becomes an interchangeable accessory; but, if Peter keeps wearing it for an extended period of time, it poses a danger of overpowering him.

The Wii version of the game gives players complete control over their web-swinging abilities using the Wiimote and the Nunchuk. The control scheme is modeled around Spider-“hands,” Man’s and it enables players to swing by requiring them to make the necessary hand motions.
