The final chapter of the Super Robot Wars/Taisen Alpha timeline also serves as the conclusion of that particular timeline.

It has only been a few short weeks following the conclusion of the Sealed War, the struggle that overthrew mankind on its very own planet, Earth. Despite this, another catastrophe is still looming on the horizon. Since the beginning of the conflict, also known as Super Robot Wars or Taisen Alpha, humanity has been aware that they are not alone in space and that a significant war is taking place somewhere else in the galaxy. The last remaining powers on Earth and its colonies devised a multitude of strategies to save humanity, either by safeguarding our planet or by assembling an intergalactic colonial fleet to look for a new home on another planet. Now that there is nowhere to hide from an approaching disaster, humanity is frantically searching for a solution to the problem.

After a significant amount of time has passed with no word from the colony ship regarding its whereabouts, it suddenly and unexplainably returns. A gigantic structure has suddenly materialized in the asteroid belt, seemingly out of nowhere. In addition, military organizations as well as extraterrestrial beings from both inside and outside of our earth are plotting evil against humankind. It is now the beginning of the end of the human race. Few people will ever be privy to the truth regarding its conclusion…

The third installment in the Super Robot Wars series, Dai-3-ji Super Robot Taisen Alpha (also known as The 3rd Super Robot Wars Alpha), is a tactical role-playing game (RPG) that blends numerous robots from well-known anime series from Japan with robots that are commonly referred to as “mecha.” The game takes place on an isometric terrain, and players command a variety of different units there as they fight a large number of foes and advance the plot. After completing a mission, players have the opportunity to modify their units’ specifications and weapons, as well as add peripherals that will assist their forces in combat. The game, much like its predecessor, enables players to form battalions consisting of four different units, and each of these groups has the ability to fight other enemy battalions. The franchise saw its first appearance of characters from another video game series with the addition of three new anime series: Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, GaoGaiGar FINAL, and Sega’s Virtual-ON. These additions marked the first time that the franchise featured characters from another video game series. As a way to commemorate the conclusion of the story, it also brings back to this timeline significant series like as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Macross, and Gunbuster.
