SWAT Siege is a shooting gallery game in the vein of Cabal and Blood Bros. The player takes control of a SWAT agent tasked with removing all enemies from each level. The player, like in Cabal, can only move left and right while also moving an aiming reticule across the screen to shoot enemies that appear from behind the cover and at windows. The screen also moves slightly to the left and right, and being hit once kills you. For shooting enemies, score and weapon bonuses are awarded, and they fly toward the player to be collected. SWAT Siege is a complex low-budget film. According to the title, the player assumes the role of a member of the SWAT team (Special Weapons And Tactics), fighting to ensure the safety of criminals. Phoenix Games, a British studies developer, created this product. Other shooters developed by the company include Sniper Assault and Air Raid 3. SWAT Siege was made solely for the PlayStation 2. The single-player campaign must consist of more than a dozen missions that must be completed in a strict order determined by the order manufacturers. The fact that these stages are played in cities is a recurring feature. As a result, the player, in particular, must be wary of enemies hidden inside buildings.
