The Sum of All Fears is a first-person shooter in the vein of the Rogue Spear series. It’s from the same development team and has a similar look and feel, though it’s not as tactical as Rogue Spear. The game’s plot is based on Tom Clancy’s book of the same name. You command a squad of elite fighters trained in hostage rescue and anti-terror operations. Every member of the team is the best of the best. The first mission is to retake a TV station that has been taken over by terrorists broadcasting their demands worldwide. They also have hostages, so you must ensure no one is harmed. However, this is only the beginning of a global anti-terrorism campaign with 11 missions. There is a training mode and several difficulty levels. Unlike Rogue Spear, you cannot select team members or equipment; everything is pre-defined, with over 15 guns and grenades. You can’t plan your missions, so it comes down to controlling a team member, shooting every terrorist you see, and performing various tasks (disarming security systems etc.). In contrast to other shooter games, you cannot survive many bullets; two wounds are usually sufficient to kill you. You can then switch to another team member.
