Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3

Rainbow is a military operation that was launched in response to a string of terrorist assaults that were carried out in South America against US interests. These attacks appeared to be carried out by Islamist terrorists who Saudi Arabia supported. Nevertheless, the recently elected President of Venezuela, Juan Crespo, is the ultimate mastermind behind the attacks and is responsible for them. Crespo successfully won the election by appealing to voters’ fears about terrorism and running on a platform that emphasized robust anti-terror measures (which he orchestrated). Crespo plans first to bring Saudi Arabia into disrepute, then cut off Venezuela’s supply of oil to the United States, thereby causing an oil crisis and driving up the price of oil, which he would then sell to the United States on the black market at prices that were significantly inflated. Crespo plans to discredit Saudi Arabia, then cut off Venezuela’s oil supply to the United States. Rainbow successfully thwarts President Crespo’s schemes and, in the end, assassinates the president himself. After that, Rainbow makes arrangements for the international media to report that the terrorists were responsible for Crespo’s passing.
