Zwei!!

Granville, the miraculous world of floating continents, once had a robust magical presence. Six demon lords revolted against the benevolent twin goddesses Aplyes and Espina a thousand years ago. Thus began the Great Sorcery War, in which humans fought bravely against demons. Tiara, the Priestess Princess of the Holy Kingdom of Valence, and the Crusader Paradys defeated the demons. Still, the force of magic that penetrated Granvallen began to fade. A mysterious masked man enters the peaceful village of Puck on the continent of Arshes five hundred years later. Two fourteen-year-old children, Pipiro and Pokkle, see him enter the village temple, murder a guard, and steal six Goddess statues, the village’s most valuable treasure. The kids abandon Puck to pursue the stranger, bring him to justice, and possibly gain fame and fortune. Zwei!! It is a role-playing action game with cartoon-style 2D graphics. The player can switch between Pipiro and Pokkle at any time; when controlling one, the AI controls the other. Pipiro fights with magical projectiles, while Pokkle uses a drill-like close-combat weapon. Elemental and combo attacks can exploit enemy weaknesses and force them to drop more valuable items. The overworld provides access to individual locations for the player. The majority of them are labyrinthine dungeons with multiple levels filled with enemies. Food dropped by enemies or found in the game world provides experience points. In a restaurant, food items can be combined to create more powerful ones with a higher experience count. The player can also get a pet animal (a cat or a dog) who will follow the protagonists around, assist them in collecting items, and unlock specific combo attacks.
