Acclaim Entertainment is responsible for creating and publishing the All-Star Baseball series of baseball video games. The first game in the series, All-Star Baseball ’97, was released in 1997. This marked the beginning of the series. Featuring Frank Thomas, this game is the follow-up to Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball. The play-by-play broadcasters for the New York Yankees During 1998-2000, the game was called by John Sterling and Michael Kay, also the announcers. All-Star Baseball 2005 is the last game to be released in the franchise because Acclaim filed for bankruptcy in 2005. There are a variety of game modes available inside each unique game, including exhibitions, managing an already-established Major League Baseball team, and setting up a team from scratch. In addition to Mexico City and Puerto Rico, several cities in North America are up for “expansion.” Derek Jeter is on the front cover of the majority of the games.
