The vehicle combat games like Twisted Metal are the inspiration for the cartoony gameplay of Cel Damage. The plot revolves around a cartoon show made up called “Cel Damage” and its six main characters. The characters, being cartoons, can instantaneously regenerate after being destroyed by one another, much to the delight of the viewers watching the television show. The player engages in combat across thirteen stages and three game modes. Weaponry in Cel Damage ranges from the commonplace, such as chainsaws and baseball bats, to the fantastical, with objects such as freeze rays, gigantic springs, and portable nuclear devices.
