The video game based on the popular film series Ghostbusters also brings back some of the original cast members to recreate the special blend of humor and horror that made Ghostbusters a cultural phenomenon.

The president of Infogrames Entertainment, the organization that owns Atari, Phil Harrison, declared that Ghostbusters: The Video Game was a wonderful addition to Atari’s international lineup for 2009. “Due to the game’s top-notch action and full-on mayhem, there is a lot of anticipation and excitement among gamers. Except for creating your own proton pack, there is no more exciting Ghostbusting experience available.

The Vice President of Licensing-Hardlines for Sony Pictures Consumer Products Inc., Mark Caplan, expressed his excitement about working with Atari on Ghostbusters: The Video Game. “As one of our studios’ most cherished film series, we wanted to create a video game that will excite both new and seasoned fans, and with Atari, we have a publisher who completely understands Ghostbusters and is dedicated to creating entertaining content that fans would genuinely enjoy.”

For the first time in 20 years, the original ensemble is back together in the video game adaptation of the film Ghostbusters, which was written by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd. The original tale set two years after Ghostbusters II, features voices by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson, as well as in-game likenesses of each actor. Manhattan is once more besieged by ghosts and other paranormal entities. Fans’ favorites William Atherton (who portrays Walter Peck), Annie Potts (who portrays Jane Melnitz), and Brian Doyle-Murray also make appearances in the game (portraying Mayor Jock Mulligan).
