To hit a home run, simply swing the Wii Remote, or throw the ball over the plate by making a pitching gesture.
- As you assemble your crew for the battle against Bowser, explore Baseball Kingdom’s diverse and fascinating scenery. Each region of the kingdom offers a unique experience, from modern urban settings to lush tropical jungles.
- The characters in Mario Super Sluggers are like powerful free agents who won’t sign with just any squad; they want to play for a victorious team. A new character you encounter will put your abilities to the test. You can only convince them to join your team by defeating them in hitting, pitching, and fielding competitions.
- You can command one of five captains in Challenge Mode, each of whom has unique special abilities. WarioTM possesses the power of magnetism, Donkey Kong can climb vines and break barrels, and Yoshi® can jump through manholes.
Exhibition: Play a game and see how you fare with your chosen team. Up to three other players or the computer can be your opponent.
Minigames: Play nine minigames to test your skills or compete against up to three other players. You’ll have more fun than a rookie at his first spring training, competing in pitching matches and home run competitions alike.
Toy Field: Play a game of hitting and fielding against three other players on the toy field. You can choose to play against friends or against computer opponents, setting your turn limit and the opponents’ skill level.
Training: Use the extended instructional mode to get the hang of things.
Characters: Mario Super Sluggers features more than 40 characters from the Mario world.
Special powers/items/moves/features: This isn’t your standard baseball game, thus there are special abilities, stuff, moves, and features. There’s always something new around the corner, from unique techniques to arenas full of obstacles.
Special Moves: Each captain possesses a specific Star Skill that enables them to make extraordinary actions while pitching or hitting. Daisy can turn the outfield into a floral garden, Mario can turn his fastball into a fireball, and Luigi can transform infield hits into a violent tornado. Star Skills can also be used by non-captains to provide a bit of additional spice to hits or pitches.
Chemistry: Like in actual sports, certain Mario Super Sluggers characters share specific chemistry together on the field. This connection also referred to as “chemistry,” enables players to make amazing leaping catches, pursue swift base runners, and use objects to obstruct fielders.
Stadiums: The game features nine different stadiums, ranging from an ice-filled castle to a metropolitan cityscape. You can play a doubleheader under the lights in a lot of stadiums because they are accessible both during the day and at night.
Nunchuk controller: For a more complex gameplay experience, seasoned players can also connect the Nunchuk controller.
