A wise local entrepreneur, Gordon Grimm, sees dollar signs over the Zoo’s land, envisioning it as a potential mini-golf goldmine. Under Aunt Lucy’s guidance, you’re tasked with restoring the Zoo’s reputation, nursing its residents back to health, improving the Zoo Rating, and attracting fascinating new animals to draw crowds.
INTERACTIVE TREATMENTS WITH THE WII REMOTE
With immersive medical mini-games, Zoo Hospital pushes the Wii Remote’s versatility to its limits. You’ll embark on a first-person shooter-style mini-game to eliminate pesky parasites, then scrub down your patients. Perhaps dentistry is more of your style? Clean teeth, administer novocaine and extract rotten teeth while battling tooth decay. Or maybe you prefer to navigate through a maze to remove foreign bodies or obliterate gallstones with a precise laser beam, avoiding other organs. Even microbiology is not off-limits, fighting micro-level battles against evil viruses.
NURTURING YOUR ANIMAL PATIENTS
Your Zoo Rating soars when your animals are content. To keep their spirits high and health robust, you can use your Wii Remote to pat, feed, or administer treatments in their enclosures. Figure out what each animal prefers to maximize their happiness and, in turn, your Zoo’s popularity.
WIDE VARIETY OF ANIMALS AND A COOPERATIVE MODE
Zoo Hospital boasts a roster of 48 animals, including seven species not seen in the original DS version (camel, capuchin, dolphin, gorilla, macaw, mandrill, and owl). You’re not alone in your mission, either! The game features a 2-player Cooperative Multiplayer mode, allowing you and a friend to treat animals together and interact within their enclosures.
MAINTAINING YOUR ZOO AND ZOO RATING
The game also offers a 3D zoo environment to visit and treat its varied inhabitants. To keep your Zoo Rating high, it’s essential to revisit enclosures and ensure the animals are recovering well and swiftly. An animal’s recovery period reduces your Zoo Rating, so fast healing, facilitated by feeding or petting, boosts your rating more rapidly.
EXPANDING YOUR ZOO AND ACHIEVEMENTS
- Proper animal care and treatment improve the all-new Zoo Rating.
- A high Zoo Rating allows the introduction of new animals and enclosures to the Zoo. However, beware! Poor treatment and care can lower the Zoo Rating, causing animals to depart your Zoo as quickly as they arrived.
- The game’s Zoo Hospital Gallery allows you to view your Zoo Rating, Medical Ratings, and earned plaques throughout the game.
- Successful procedures and a rising Zoo Rating unlock new animals, enclosures, medical mini-games, and plaques.
