When universes intersect, and the characters of eleven of Cartoon networks biggest shows battle each other in an all-star brawler, mysterious powers are at work! Play as 18 of your favorite Cartoon Network characters from your favorite show, and keep an eye out for appearances from an additional 19 characters that come in and help you out in battle!
Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion is a mascot brawler fighting game that brings together various Cartoon Network Multiverse characters in one big battle that plays very similarly to the Super Smash Bros. series. A character is controlled by up to four players (human or CPU controlled) and fights on a multi-tiered 2D stage. To get an advantage over their opponent, players can employ numerous things that emerge at random. Furthermore, the stage may use predetermined components to eliminate other players.
In Dexter’s Lab Stage, for example, players can pull two distinct levers. One activates a conveyor belt, and the other fires a lethal laser. When players collide, light cubes will fall out of them. If players gather enough of these cubes, they will fill up their special meter, which, when full, will unleash a tremendous “Punch Time Explosion” assault on their opponents (the equivalent of a Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl). For instance, Ben transforms into one of his aliens and blasts missiles across the stage. Fighting characters in the XL version can team up with specific aid characters (the counterparts of Assist Trophies) to perform Synergy attacks. Madame Foster, for example, delivers a plate of cookies to the arena, Chowder consumes them, becoming obese, and Madame Foster rolls him around the stage. Each character has a unique move set that incorporates elements from their own programs. Each has three types of attacks: up, down, and side. The majority of the characters feature a projectile attack. Captain K’nuckles is the sole character with a crippling attack.
