Closure

Closure is a revamped and improved version of the browser game released in 2009 under the same name. It is a black-and-white puzzle platformer that revolves primarily around a gameplay mechanic involving light and darkness. The objective of each level is to make it to the next door. However, most of the display is obscured by night, and the player can only see a small portion of the location where there are light sources. For the character to move around, it must carry glowing spheres that follow the surface as they navigate the environment. Crossing areas of the landscape that would have been inaccessible without a partial illumination system is possible. When there is no illuminated ground underneath the character’s feet, the character simply falls through the level along with any things it was carrying, and the player must restart the level.

Everything else about this version of the game is different, except the primary gameplay mechanic, which has been kept the same. There are over one hundred levels, all brand new, and may be found in settings as varied as a carnival, an overworld, a forest, and a factory. In the second game, the human character from the first game has been switched out for a creature with four legs. Once the player has completed the initial sets of levels, which serve as a tutorial, they are granted access to the hub, which contains 24 stories. At each corner, the player must retrieve a mask to turn the creature into a different character, such as a woman, a child, or a factory worker. Existing puzzle mechanics are utilized, such as moving through walls by dropping orbs so that they are only partially lit, using keys to open doors, and spheres in statues that move about on a predefined path. At the same time, the player needs to ensure that the character remains in the light and various other mechanisms. Swimming through the water and following an orb upwards is one of the new additions, along with rolling objects, lights whose direction and exposure can be altered, refracted by ice, lights that can illuminate other sources, and so on. The game also features a complete soundtrack, and the background has been made far more detailed with various landscapes. In addition to the primary objective of completing all of the levels, there are a total of thirty hidden silver moths that can be collected. If you die, the current level will have to be reset entirely. However, you have an endless number of chances to do so.
