Hostile extraterrestrial entities have despatched four separate comets in the direction of the player’s home planet. It is now the responsibility of the player to capture and secure each comet before the comets can cause harm that cannot be undone.
Tower defense games are nothing new, but Comet Crash adds its unique spin to the genre. The objective of the game is not limited to only protecting a base from wave after wave of invading enemies; in addition to that, the player must also destroy an opposing base.
The player pilots their starship from start to finish. The user is given the ability to collect a resource known as thorium with this spacecraft. After the player has destroyed their defensive lasers and turrets with thallium-filled meteors, they can manage the thallium that has fallen to the ground after the meteors have exploded. The thorium is then transformed into cash, which can be used in constructing more base defenses and is also utilized in producing structures responsible for creating attacking units.
Defensive units include things like gun turrets, lasers, and other similar technologies, all of which have the potential to be upgraded into more formidable constructions. Path blocking is another type of defense that can be used. This type of defense involves the player attempting to block the direct path the enemy takes to their base to force the enemy to take the most circuitous way possible. Utilizing this strategy will assist the player’s defense in dealing with the maximum harm to the adversary.
Structures used in basic operations can be transformed into offensive units. Scouts, tanks, drones, and torpedoes are the four different types of troops that may be constructed from these. Each of these has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. The game permits a maximum of one thousand units to be displayed on the screen at any moment. Structures used in special operations can also be used to construct other types of units. The player’s offensive and defensive strategy receives support from special teams, including hammers, thieves, switches, and carriers. These units help offer support to the player’s plan.
The primary campaign of the game features a total of 32 different segments. The campaign mode comes with four different difficulty settings, including Beginner, Casual, Normal, and Expert, and it can be played offline in cooperative mode by up to three players simultaneously. In addition, there is a battle mode that allows up to four players to compete against one another in teams that can be customized.
In addition, there is a training mode in which players are instructed in the fundamental strategies involved in the game.
