Front Mission Evolved’s plot centers around USN engineer Dylan Ramsey. Dylan begins testing a prototype wanzer on Long Island, New York, as an engineer for the weapons firm Diable Avionics. During the wanzer test, mysterious forces launch an attack on New York City and its orbital elevator, Percival. Concerned about his father’s safety in the city, he embarks on a journey to New York City aboard the prototype wanzer. Ramsey supports USN personnel fighting the mysterious intruders as he travels through the city to the National Strategy Research Laboratory (NSRL).
Dylan arrives at the NSRL premises just before missiles are launched into the building, after battling past multiple enemy wanzers, vehicles, and aircraft. With his father presumed dead, he confronts the assailant, Marcus Seligman of the Apollo’s Chariot. When the orbital elevator begins to plummet down on New York City, the fight is cut short. Dylan is enlisted into the USN Army to prepare for war against the Oceania Cooperative Union after Percival falls (OCU).
