In an alternate reality, enormous swaths of America have become off-limits as the disastrous impacts of global warming wreak havoc on the continent. Floods, floods, bushfires, tornadoes, and hurricanes have forced people to flee towns and cities as extreme weather wreaks havoc, resulting in thousands of square kilometers of dangerously unusable land. People are turning to renewable energy in response to the devastation brought by global warming. These danger zones, however, have become a playground for a new type of racer. Adrenaline junkies venture into the bush to engage in spectacular races against themselves and the weather with a fuel supply to burn.
